Here you will find new and information about what is going on in my life.
I will try to update this part more often than the rest of the page but it will be as and if I get the time to.

Torrence is off to the Marines Torrence is my oldest boy and a few years ago he decided it was time he went into the military. Not wanting to be like his father he decided it was best to go into the Marines. Now he was off to his specialty training. He was to become a “water dog” which for a Las Vegas boy is kind of funny. The funny thing is… it will be a good job when he gets out as it also entails working on water treatment plants and large air cooling systems which all of the Las Vegas hotel have. |

The Marine Torrence survived the three months of boot camp that he attended in San Diego and his specialty training as a water dog at Camp Lejeune where he got his Marine tattoos. He was off to Marine Combat Training (MCT) which was also here in Southern California. When he completed MCT he was off to his first duty assignment back at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. |

My little boy in Iraq Torrence was deployed to Iraq last year. He has been at a base in the middle of the country and in the middle of all of the bad stuff going on over there. This week (03/13/2006) I got great news…. He is coming home very very soon. He has been working very hard over there and I know he keeps his head down. It sucked not having him around for the holidays and it was the first Christmas that we were not all together. I sure do miss him and am happy he is on his way home. To bad he will be stationed back in Camp Lejeune…... |

The youngest ones on New Years Eve Daniel and Jenna came to stay with me over the Christmas and New Years break. It was great having them come and spend New Years eve with me out in Southern California. Jenna loved the non-alcohol sparkling wine and we even had some of the things we were use to in Europe…. Poppers, crackers and hats. The kids both got new cell phones from me as Christmas gifts… the both now have a cell phone with an Ipod… now you can never get the off the phone let alone get them to answer the dang thing. |

A little fun at the local park While the kids were out for the New Years break I thought I would take them to the local park….. We went to Knott’s Berry Farm. I love roller coasters but they had a new one there called the Silver Bullet… I do not know why but the idea of getting on this ride bothered me a little bit which is not normal as I am a roller coaster freak. After the little ones rode the Silver Bullet they finally convinced me to get on it….. Man that was one of the smoothest rides I had been on. Daniel and Jenna rode the dang thing like 8 times that day. After a while I was able to get them on the Excelerator which they liked very much… so much so it was 6 times on that one. |

New Year and New Neighbors Just before the new year had started we notice that we had some new neighbors move in the empty apartment upstairs from us. It was a family and as my kids were visiting me I thought I would ask them over for the new years. I usually have a BBq and drinks for the New Years Eve and this year would be no exception. I had called another friend of mine and asked them to come on over as well and we would bring in the New Year together. It was nice to invite the new neighbors, as it turned out they had just come to America from New Zealand and had not been in the country long. Fana, Elizabeth and the kids are great people and a welcome addition to the neighborhood. |

Where does the time go? Last year (2005) Teresa took time out of her busy schedule to come and visit me out in California. I guess she is finding out what it is like to be an adult now that she has to work and be responsible. When she came out here we went off to one of my favorite places…. The Long Beach Aquarium. We spent the day walking around talking, looking at the fish and feeding the birds that they have there in the park. It was strange as when the kids were younger we never got to look around our own country as we were always over seas. I do wish that T-Bone would come out here more often as she is my first and is still daddy’s little girl…. Even if she is 6 feet tall and can kick my butt….. |

A new truck for me I know, I know…. I only had a two year old truck but to be honest with you I never liked the idea of having a pick-up and a truck bed. To me the truck bed was wasted space and I forgot about most of the things I had put back there. My jacket had grown things on it and the boxes that were back there became rotten. Now I have a brand new Hummer H3 in my favorite color, BLUE, and it has all of the abilities that I wanted for when I am out in the desert…. A 4X4 in comfort and style. |

Roatan here we come I had decided that I would take the younger two kids on a vacation this year with me to the island of Roatan. I wanted them to see the island and to have a little break from all of the TV, games, bikes, computers and MySpace and what better place than on a small island. I think they will enjoy it there as they will be able to play with dolphins and enjoy the beach every day. I will place pictures up when the trip is done….. Next year I will need to take the bigger ones when they get time off from work together. |
